Out of a love of feeding people good food, and a need for creativity, Sugar Plum Bakes began. Despite having no knowledge of marketing, or branding, with determination, courage and self-education, I built up a luxury cake business to become a sought after wedding supplier.
There is something so special about working with couples celebrating their bond with much-loved family and friends. Having a business that serves these clients is so rewarding and I love my job.
Over the last 9 years, I've been on my own journey to grow my cake business from scratch. Prior to launching my business, I worked in the Oil & Gas industry for over 15 years as a Chemical Engineer. I'm a natural problem solver and am logically-minded but the corporate world was never a good fit for me as I'm also a natural care-taker and hugely empathetic. Working in a soul-less environment left me feeling empty. After becoming a Mum, I craved more fulfilling work that would nourish my heart, mind and soul and enable me to be there for my children every day.

When we create from a place of authenticity and respect, and are true to our artistry, there is no need to fear competition. I believe in community and want the wedding industry to be filled with incredible talent.
As a mentor, I believe in bringing the best out of my clients so that they can become more confident and truly shine. That inner confidence makes it easier to attract the right clients, the kind that you want to work with, the kind that really light you up.
I feel very fortunate that I’m regularly booking my dream client and I truly value the strong and meaningful relationships I’ve built with many key people in the UK wedding industry. I recognise that it's been hard work to reach this point. I've made mistakes along the way and I've had to figure out so much for myself. I see so many talented individuals who are struggling to find success with their businesses and I want to share my knowledge and experience to help them reach this same place.

As a wife, a Mum of 2 (+ my dog) and a business owner, I've learned the importance of prioritising my health and well-being and endeavour to bring balance in my life.
My mentoring approach is about nurturing you, the business owner, and guiding you to grow your business in a sustainable and tenable way for you. And encouraging you to look after your health and maintain your wellbeing which will in turn help your business to succeed.

Family
My family are my EVERYTHING. They are at the heart of all that I do, every decision I make and every action I take.
Food
As a cake designer, is this a given that I would love food?! I truly DO. I absolutely love delicious food. Be it sweet or savoury, I'll have it all!
Travel
I fell in love with travel in my 20's and explored the world through city breaks and longer backpacking trips. There's still so much more I want to see and I think I'll always have that wanderlust in me.
Me-Time
I very much need time for me so that I can replenish and recharge. This comes in the form of swimming, yoga and long walks.
